On the First Friday of every month, Downtown Bellingham hosts an art walk. It’s a great opportunity to get out and see some art, meet the artists, and drink some wine. It runs from 6 to 10 tonight, July 2nd. It’s free and a perfect way to kick off your weekend.
One of my favorite galleries to stop by on Art Walk night is Jinx Art Space. For some reason it’s not included in the information that the Downtown Bellingham Association puts out. Jinx Art Space is an artist collective where they rent space to up and coming artists for a pretty cheap price. The show is mostly down in the basement, and there are more than 20 local artists showing their pieces. This month they are presenting ‘Hung’, with many of the artists exploring the topics of nudity and sexuality. Maybe not the best show to bring kids to, but it should be fascinating. Jinx is located at 306 Flora St., at the outskirts of downtown Bellingham.
